Filey
Folk
Festival
2025

2nd - 4th May 2025

We are back for 2025!

Founded in 2004 by Robert Hartley, (with help from Filey Folk Club regulars Alan & Poppy Scott-Hallgate), it is one of the mainstays of this North Yorkshire seaside town’s musical year. Expect a broad range in styles of acoustic folk, blues, traditional,  modern, country, a bit of acoustic rock & pop and a very warm welcome and famously friendly atmosphere. You can catch well over 100 acts performing live at the participating venues and also busking around the seaside town. The pub, cafe and restaurant shows run all weekend and admission is FREE for everyone.

Overheard from Bill Fenwick:

“20th anniversary? FFF was started in 2004 by Robert Hartley who ran the Filey folk club. It ran for 3 years until 2007. It was then revived in 2011 under Ian Kennington’s leadership until last year when he had to step back due to ill health. The current team took over and we’re back this year. So it’s 20 years if you don’t count the 3 year break. If you do, it’s 17.”

And what is a folk festival without spaces for folk sessions and opportunities for people to show up and play without being booked in?
